Bicycling in Fort Collins

Bicycling is a great way to get to know Fort Collins. With relatively flat terrain, wide bike lanes, and bike trails that follow both the Poudre River and Spring Creek, bicycling is a fun, healthy, and environmentally friendly way to recreate and see all that Fort Collins has to offer. Check out the bike map to help you with the orientation of Fort Collins here.

Beginning in the April of 2008, the Fort Collins Bicycle Library will lend bicycles to visitors and residents looking to explore the City of Fort Collins. We offer a variety of self guided tours from the "Bike the Sites" collection, including the Brewery Tour, Environmental Learning Tour, and the Historic Homes Tour. The Bike Library is centrally located in the heart of downtown Fort Collins at the Cafe Bicyclette. For more information, please visit www.fcbikelibrary.org

If it's mountain biking you are after, we have lots of great mountain biking trails minutes from downtown. Visit the City of Fort Collins Natural Areas for information on riding the foothills trails or check out Lory State Park, or Horsetooth Mountain Park for prime mountain biking action.

Additionally, Fort Collins is home to many bicycling non-profit organizations. Check out these websites for more information: www.fcgov.com/bicycling, www.fccycleclub.org, www.bikefortcollins.org and www.velo-one.com. We even host a world class cycling festival in June - see www.fccyclingfest.com.

If you are interested in renting mountain bikes or even a guided tour, take a look at our partner businesses below. Fort Collins' best biking is right at your fingertips!
