Matting and Framing Class
Course Description:

Alan Kinney, owner of Lloyd's Art Center, will be providing real world, useful information on framing your photography. The class will cover all aspects of framing from mounting, matting, moulding, and glazing. Feel free to bring in samples of your work to get advice on handling specific pieces for framing in a gallery, art fair or commission type environment. All framing topics will be covered so bring any questions you might have.

**This class will be video-taped so if you have to miss a week, you can watch the video of that session.**

The four-class series will provide a complete roadmap for how to conceive, research and write a narrative nonfiction piece from beginning to end. Instructor Greg Campbell is a published author of three nonfiction books (and a fourth in development) and 20-year journalist who specializes in narrative nonfiction. His writing has been described as being like "PJ O'Rourke's more serious younger brother" and as having "a persona that's half Jimmy Stewart, half Indiana Jones."

Art: Where Water Meets Land: Island Arts from the South Seas

This exhibition features indigenous native arts from cultures within the oceanic areas of Indonesia, Melanesia, Micronesia, Polynesia and Australia. Objects range from the sacred used in life sustaining rituals that validate status or commemorate ancestors to the utilitarian needed for the tasks of daily life - a garment, tool, bowl, outrigger, paddle or defensive weapon.
