For an indoor, all-season swimming/skating sensation, drop in an EPIC –the Edora Pool and Ice Center – the city’s largest swimming facility which also houses two sheets of ice for open skates as well as amateur hockey league play. And if you prefer skating on dry land, check out the city’s skate parks in Edora Park and Fossil Creek Park. Just watch out for the flying disks sailing around the disk-golf courses. The Environmental Learning Center is a 212- acre nature preserve just minutes from downtown and includes nearly three miles of trails, four habitats, several ponds, and plant and animal life to explore. The injured birds of prey at the Rocky Mountain Raptor Center, located on E. Vine Drive, welcome visitors interested in their rehabilitation and release.
Northside Aztlan Community Center is home to a wide variety of activities, classes, programs, sports and events. The Northside Aztlan Center continues to provide the same beneficial community programs as well as new and exciting opportunities. The Northside Aztlan Center is a 50,000 square foot recreation center (more than three times its original size) offering various activities.
This museum exposes the public to different value systems as expressed through art. One gallery features folk art in miniature. An exhibition space might feature art from Tibet of Japan. The final gallery emphasizes the geography of major civilizations.
